This large 2 bedroom apartment comprises approximately 200m2 of living space, built over 4 levels. Throughout the apartment you have beautiful exposed stone walls and original timber beams.
The apartment is accessed via a stone paved driveway where you will find a private parking place, next to the covered terrace and entrance to the apartment. The large reception room forms the main lounge of the apartment. Currently unfurnished, this room will be equipped with a sofa, armchairs, coffee table and wall mounted TV. The reception room provides access down to the kitchen and dining area and also access up to the bedrooms and roof terrace.
A set of steps takes you down to the stunning living room which features a fitted kitchen and dining area. This room benefits from the hardwood flooring, renovated stone walls and a sloping roof with exposed beams. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, butler sink and integrated fridge and freezer. The kitchen has plenty of storage space and comes with plates, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. There is also a smaller kitchenette on the upper floor, which is ideal for making a morning coffee or uncorking a bottle of wine in the evening.
The dining area has a long wooden table capable of seating 6 people.
A set of wooden stairs takes you up to the upper floors. Here you will find 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom is an enormous space and comes fitted with a King size double bed, antique wardrobe, dressing table and wall mounted electric radiator. Next to the bedroom there is a beautiful bathroom with exposed stone walls, a walk-in shower, toilet and a stylish vanity unit with sink and matching bathroom cabinet. A set of stairs takes you up to the second bedroom. This bedroom comes with a hardwood floor, sloping roof with exposed beams and access out onto the roof terrace. The bedroom has a King size bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers and a wall-mounted electric radiator. The en suite bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet and stylish wash basin
Outside: the roof terrace comes with amazing views over the valley and hills. On some days you can even see the snow capped Pyrenees. There is a small patio table and chairs and a sun lounger. The terrace is paved with beautiful local stone and is the perfect space to chill out and relax. There is also a large heated pool (11m x 6m), adventure playground, tree house and wild flower gardens. The Owner´s family also lives on site and the facilities are shared with them.
Les Coumayres apartment is available for long term rentals between October and May each year. The monthly price includes water and wood supply for the wood burner. But guests must pay for their own electricity usage. There is the possibility of renting this apartment for a full calendar year (please enquire about prices and availability).

Les Coumayres is located in between the town of St Pons de Thomieres and Lake Salvetat (a popular local fresh-water lake). St Pons de Thomieres is located 1 hour from the city of Beziers, near the Mediterranean coast. The local area is dominated by the landscape of the Black Mountains, which provides densely forested hills and a wide variety of wildlife. Nearby to the property there are some excellent cycling and walking trails, as well as mountain bike routes.
The local village is Riols, which has a population of around 750 people. The local area is covered by the Haut Languedoc Regional Park and there are many interesting sites to visit include the beautiful town of Roquebrun on the River Orb (19km), the popular wine village of Saint Chinian (11km) and the ancient Cather village of Minerve (17km).
Further afield you have the town of Carcassonne with its famous Medieval Castle, the old Roman town of Narbonne and Beziers, the gateway to the Mediterranean coastline.

To reach Les Coumayres from St Pons de Thomieres, take the D908 to Riols and then pick up the D57 (direction Bordevielle). You will reach Les Coumayres in about 10 minutes.
