This cottage to rent long term in South France is a lovely refurbished 2 bedroom property opposite the Canal du Midi in the centre of the city. The main railway station is 5 minutes walk and there are plenty of local restaurants, shops and services nearby. Carcassonne airport is just a short taxi ride.
The cottage is laid out all on one level, with ground floor access with no steps. The cottage also comes with its own private terrace and you can also sit on the canal bank with a baguette and a bottle of wine and watch the barges and little ducks go by.
Available for long term rentals all year around from €900 per month + bills.

The Cottage is located in a very quiet area of the city, just opposite the famous Canal du Midi. The cottage comes with reverse air conditioning for heating and cooling, as well as a large wood burning stove.
- There is a lovely living room with a comfy day bed and sofa.
- The cottage comes with a TV and free Wifi.
- The fully equipped kitchen comes with a fridge freezer, washing machine, cooker and microwave.
- Bedroom 1 is a double bedroom, with wardrobe and bedside cabinets.
- Bedroom 2 comes with a large double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers.
- The bedrooms are fitted with luxurious cotton sheets and fluffy white towels.
Outside:
- The living room leads out onto the terrace, which features patio furniture and a parasol.
- The window opens out on to the canal so you can watch the boats go by. There is a table and chairs to sit outside where you can enjoy our local wines or beers.

Last visited: September 2023. This is a very convenient long term rental property in South France. The cottage is located right in the heart of Carcassonne, next to the Canal du Midi. Everything in Carcassonne is walkable from this cottage - shops, restaurants, cafes, etc. Carcassonne also has a local airport with flights to the UK and Ireland. There is a train station in the town, with services to Toulouse and Narbonne (where you can pick up the TGV).

Cute cottage
The cottage is really cute and authentic with really original furniture. The bathroom seems to be new and the shower is great. Overall a great stay and I'm only sad that we didn't stay longer.

Perfect
The property was absolutely perfect and in an idyllic location. The balcony was a sun trap during late afternoon early evening and the seating area at the front of the property has a balance of shade and sunshine throughout the day to wave to the canal boats as they sailed by. The decor with in the cottage was quintessentially French with a warm an homely feel. A perfect trip in a perfect location with a perfect host
A reservation deposit of one month´s rent to be paid at time of booking. This will become the security deposit during your stay. Rent to be paid in advance at the start of each month (for rentals in excess of 3 months). There is a monthly provision of €200 towards the electricity, water, internet and local taxes. Minimum stay is 3 months. References required.
