A beautiful Provence stone cottage for long term rent in South France in a woodland setting. The accommodation comprises a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bathroom. This refurbished cottage is located at the end of a quiet lane, on the outskirts of the village of Salernes in the Var department. The cottage sits on a 3 acre plot (12,290m2)The surrounding countryside is simply idyllic - with beautiful Provence villages such as Cotignac, Villecroze and Sillans-la-Cascade.
The monthly rental price of €1800 per month + bills also takes into account of the higher rental prices for the summer months
Provence cottage for long term rent - facilities
The cottage provides over 100m2 of living space, spread over 2 floors.
- On the ground floor you enter into the open plan living room, which contains a lounge, study/sitting room and a country style kitchen.
- The study/sitting room to the right as you enter, contains some beautiful antique hardwood furniture featuring a desk, dresser and a day-bed.
- To the left, the lounge contains a large flat screen TV (with international channels) and two metal frame sofas/day beds.
- In the centre of the room there is a beautiful wood burning stove, which pumps heat out during the winter evenings. There is also a portable gas fire for additional heating.
- The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, a large range cooker with gas oven & hob, a microwave and plenty of storage space and cooking utensils. There is a table in the kitchen which can seat 4-6 people. A door from the kitchen leads out onto the covered terrace at the rear of the cottage.
On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.
- Bedroom 1 contains a double bed, bedside table and storage space.
- Bedroom 2 comes with twin beds.
- The bathroom features a bath with overhead shower and a wash basin. There is a separate toilet.
Outside: there is an enclosed garden and a covered terrace (perfect for lazy lunches or evening meals. The Owner of the property has a large swimming pool (15mx4m) which is available for use (open late-May to September). The extensive grounds are mainly laid to lawn and also feature many poplar trees.

Last visited: September 2020. What a wonderful place to spend a few months living in Provence, France. This comfortable 2 bed stone cottage in the Var provides excellent accommodation for a couple, with enough space for visits from friends and family. Salernes is a lovely village - very friendly and with a good range of local services.

The village of Salernes has a good selection of shops & restaurants. There is a weekly market held throughout the year. Salernes also has a primary school and there is a secondary school in the nearby commune of Lorgues.
The nearest beaches are 1 hour away at St Raphael and St Tropez.
The beautiful Gorges du Verdon is 40km to the north of Salernes. This is a great spot for walking, picnics and hiring canoes.

The village of Salernes in the Var department, is located 25km west of Draguignan and 1 hour from the Cote d´Azur coastline at Frejus, Sainte-Maxime and St Tropez.
One month deposit to be paid at time of reservation(this will become the security deposit for your stay). Rent to be paid in advance on the first day of the month (for rentals of 3 months or less, the rent is to be paid in full prior to arrival). Utility bills to be paid in addition to the monthly rent (estimated cost: €175 pcm for electricity and water). References maybe required. Minimum stay is normally 3 months.
