This 4 bed French country house for long term rentals is located close to the beautiful town of Mirepoix in South France. The popular town of Mirepoix is located right in the centre of Southern France, just 1 hour from Toulouse and 50 mins to the Pyrenees. The town is famous for its picturesque medieval market square and Cathedral-size church.
This renovated stone farmhouse dates back to the 1800's and is located in a quiet hamlet, 4kms from Mirepoix. The house comes with a well-equipped kitchen, large living room, 2 bathrooms, central heating and 2 wood pellet stoves.
Available for long term rentals between October to April from €1600 per month + bills.

The house is laid out over 2 floors and comprises 200m2 of living space. The house has good speed Fibre internet access.
Ground floor
- You enter into the main entrance hall, which has a billiards table and beautiful wooden staircase up to the first floor. Next to the billiards table there are 2 bar tables and a drinks fridge.
- The large living room (56m²) which contains a lounge area with large sofa, armchair, flat screen TV and coffee table. There is also a dining area with table and chairs for 8-10 people. The living room also contains a large wood pellet stove.
- The fully-equipped kitchen comes with a refrigerator with freezer compartment, electric oven, 3 ring induction cooker, dishwasher, a microwave and a kitchen table with 4 chairs.
- Next to the kitchen there is a utility room with a washing machine, iron, ironing board, air dryer, hoover and cleaning equipment.
- There is also a bathroom on the ground floor which has a walk-in shower and WC.
First floor
- Bedroom 1 comes with a beautiful four-poster bed (Queen size double bed). The bedroom is 19m2 and has French windows with a Juliette balcony.
- Bedroom 2 is a triple room, that can be configured to either 3 single beds or a King size double bed and a single bed. The bedroom is very spacious (20m²).
- Bedroom 3 is a twin bedroom.
- Bedroom 4 is also a twin bedroom.
- There is a family bathroom which comes with a bath (with overhead shower), a wash basin and a WC.
Outside:
- There is a large swimming pool, which comes with a sun terrace with sun loungers and tables.
- There is a large patio with a BBQ and outdoor table and chairs
- There is a large garden which features a children's play area.
- There is parking for 2 cars.

Area activities
This part of France is known as the Ariège. It is a rural corner of France in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The area has usually mild winters (although snow usually falls for 10-15 days per year) and long warm summers. The local cuisine is famous for its charcuterie, mountain cheeses and confit de canard.
The local town of Mirepoix is one of the prettiest in the South of France. The weekly market is held every Monday and virtually takes over the whole town. There are some excellent restaurants surrounding the main market square. Mirepoix also has a good range of supermarkets and shops. The nearby towns of Pamiers and Carcassonne provide a bigger range of shopping and services.

Walking
- There are plenty of local walking trails and the Pyrenees offers more spectacular hiking routes.
Cycling
- This is a great area for cycling, covering easy cycle paths to Tour de France climbs. A recently built cycle path built on a disused railway line allows car-free access to Mirepoix and a neighbouring village Rieucros.
- The Tour de France passes through Ariège nearly every year, en route to the Pyrenees.
Horse riding
- There are two local equestrian centre providing horse riding and stable facilities.
Skiing
- The Pyrenees ski resorts (50 mins drive) provide a range of snow sports from skiing to snowboarding and snowshoe trails

The nearest train station is located at Pamiers which is served on the main Toulouse to Foix line. Trains run frequently and Toulouse Matabiau station is in the city centre and served on the metro line.

Nearest airports are Carcassonne (35 mins) and Toulouse (1 hour).
Driving directions
Located less than 25 mins from the A61 - the main road that connects Toulouse with Carcassonne and the Mediterranean coast.
