This Stone cottage for long term rentals is situated in the beautiful town of Lagrasse in Southern France. Lagrasse is located in the Aude department, in between Carcassonne and Narbonne and is surrounded by the Corbieres hills. The cottage is located on a quiet street in the village and comes with a private courtyard garden. The property is only a few steps away from the River Orbieu which is a popular swimming spot for the local villagers.
The property is available for long term rentals between October to May from €750 pcm + bills.

You enter the property from the street into the charming courtyard garden. You enter into the open-plan living room.
- The lounge comes with a built-in wood stove, two sofas, a dresser and a TV. In the dining area there is a sideboard and a table with 4 chairs.
- The kitchen is fitted with a 3-burner gas stove, electric oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and washing machine.
- On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed (140cm x 200cm) and built in wardrobes and the other with twin beds. There is a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
Outside: The courtyard garden is mainly paved and is approximately 25 m² in size. There is a patio table and chairs and a barbecue. You can park near the house or - in the main season - at the free parking places on the outskirts of the village (approx. 3 minutes walk from the house).

Area activities
Lagrasse is a popular destination for visitors. Lagrasse was founded in 783AD when permission was given by Charlemagne (the ruler of the Frankish kingdom which occupied much of France, Germany and Western Europe) for an Abbey to be constructed on the site.
You can still visit the Benedictine monastery in Lagrasse and stroll through the cloistered gardens. In the centre of Lagrasse you will find a warren of small streets with shops and galleries. There is a covered market on Saturdays at Place de Halle. There are several good restaurants in the town.
In the area you can walk and cycle (marked walking and cycling routes), horseback riding, play tennis and fish or swim in the river. During the year there are many concerts, exhibitions and cultural events.
Lagrasse is located in the centre of Cathar Country and you can visit many of the great Cathar castles such as Quéribus, Peyrepertuse, Puylaurens and Montségur (route des Cathares). The Mediterranean beaches are just a half-hour drive away and you can also take boat trip along the famous Canal du Midi or a walk along the tow path
The local area is full of historic cities such as Narbonne, Beziers, Perpignan, Montpellier and of course Carcassonne with its famous Castle.
Other transport
There is a local train station in Lezignan-Corbieres and Carcassonne. Regional services go to Narbonne and Toulouse, where you can pick up the TGV. There is a local bus service from Lagrasse to the town of Lezignan-Corbieres, where you will find supermarkets, DIY stores, shops and restaurants.
