The rental is for the main 2 bedroom house. Additional rates will apply for the adjoining studio, barn and horse stables. 

The prices quoted are based on a 12 month rental period. Higher prices may apply to rentals over the summer period and for shorter rentals. Utility bills and communal taxes are payable in addition to the rent.

This French farmhouse for rent in South West France is beautifully situated overlooking the 7 Hectares of land, close to the charming town of Auch in the Midi-Pyrenees region. The farmhouse also comes with 2 large barns and a stables for horses, which can be rented separately. The farmhouse has 2 bedrooms and there is also a studio apartment in the adjoining building (which can also be rented separately). 

The farmhouse is located in the centre of the Gers department, 15 minutes south of Auch, 5 minutes from Seissan (nearest town with supermarket) and 1 hour from Toulouse airport. Available to rent for 6-12 months (and longer) from €750 pcm + bills.

French farmhouse for long term rentals - facilities

The farmhouse has been renovated and comes with central heating and modern kitchen and bathroom. The farmhouse has 2 adjoining buildings - one containing a large converted studio/apartment and the other is awaiting renovation. Separate to the main farmhouse there is a large barn (170m2) which has been fitted out as a stables and covered riding pen. 

Please note: additional rates will apply if you also wish to rent the adjoining buildings and barn/stables.

The main house is laid out on one floor and comes with the original terracotta tiled floors have been repolished and there are exposed beams. You enter into the lobby which provides access to the living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.

Living room:

  • lovely large open-plans pace (25m2), with high ceilings
  • features a dining table, sofa and storage units
  • the living room also provides access to the kitchen

Kitchen:

  • newly installed and comes with an electric oven and hob, large fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, butler sink, espresso machine and plenty of storage space
  • equipped with plenty of cooking utensils, plates, glasses, etc.

Bedrooms & bathrooms:

  • Bedroom 1 (7.2m2) comes with a double bed
  • Bedroom 2 (8.3m2) also has a double bed. Both bedrooms come with wooden parquet floors
  • there is a beautiful bathroom with walk-in shower, stylish wash-basin and heated towel rail.
  • There is a separate toilet.

The studio apartment: next to the main house you will find a converted studio space (60m2). The studio features

  • bedroom with double bed
  • wood-burning stove and large windows at the front
  • there is an en suite shower and separate toilet.

 

Art studio: there is an 150m2 open plan art studio which features a solid Douglas Pine flooring and it would be an ideal space either for an office, studio, micro-brewery, family room or an event room. The windows at the front of the studio are fitted with plexi-safety glass, so this space would primarily used from March through to October.

 

Outside: the farmhouse is located within 24 hectares of land. There are 2 barns (with 700m2 of roofed structures), 3 large horse boxes, an open stable & tack room. Water, electricity, lighting and a fencing system are all installed.

  • The Main Stable (20m x 21.5m) comes with easily interchangeable metal panels and gates. The stable can either be left as one large open space (in which up to ten horses can circulate under cover and freely access the pasture) or can be split into two separate open stables with access to different pastures.
  • Furthermore the horses can be kept separately in 3 large horseboxes, (each 4.2m x 4.5m) with separate paddocks.
  • The Main Barn (23m x 12.3m) has fencing in place allowing for the space to be used as a round pen and a paddock in addition to the main storage of hay and straw.
  • The Tack room (8m x 4m) is a secure room which has been used to store tack and special horse food.

Farmhouse in France to rent long term - prices

The monthly rental prices for this Farmhouse to rent in Midi-Pyrenees are based on a 12 month rental period and do not include the utility bills. There is a monthly provision of €200 towards the electricity, water and local taxes. Firewood and/oil for the central heating, to be provided at the tenants expense.

In the local area there is a good 4G mobile reception, but the house doesn't have a broadband internet connection. Bouygues Telecom provide a very quick 4G Wi-Fi router for €32 per month (which can provide internet speeds quicker than most broadband connections). The house does not have French terrestial TV.

Farmhouse in South-West France to rent long term - our opinion

Whilst the farmhouse is remote, you are still only 15 mins from the beautiful town of Auch and 1 hour from Toulouse. This property is absolutely perfect if you are looking for a rental property with a land and stables available. The farmhouse provides a tranquil setting with no major roads nearby and open countryside in all directions.

Area activities

This French farmhouse is located in the heart of the beautiful Gascony countryside, within the Gers department. The farmhouse comes with beautiful views over the hils and valleys of the Gers, on towards the Pyrenees in the distance. The area is noted for it´s gastronomy, whether it be duck, foie gras, armagnac, game .. products for sale direct from local farmers.

During the summer, this corner of France has a choice of festivals to visit, whether it be in nearby Auch, or the International Jazz festival in Marciac, the Latino festival of Vic-Fezensac Tempo, or the Country music festival in Mirande (all from 15 to 35 minutes from the farmhouse)

Nearby you have direct access to a network of road bike and mountain bike circuits, walking trails and small hikes

The beautiful cathedral of Auch, attracts many visitors, so do the towns of Agen, Tarbes and Condom.

Other transport

There is a train station at Auch, which provides connections to the TGV train up to Paris & Bordeaux and local trains to Toulouse.

Airports

The nearest airport is located at Toulouse, which is 1 hour´s drive. Alternatively, there is a small airport at Lourdes/Pau, which is 1 hour 15 mins.

Driving directions

The farmhouse is located close to the hamlet of Monchapeau, which is a 15 mins drive from the town of Auch. The nearby D150 road connects up to the N21 main road, which takes you to Auch. From Auch, the N124 takes you directly to Toulouse.

Remote farmhouse for 12 month rentals France

This remote farmhouse in the Gers department in South-West France is the ideal rental property if you are looking for a peaceful and quite retreat in rural France. The farmhouse also has a barn, stables and horse riding ring, plus a separate studio apartment (which can be rented in addition to the farmhouse for an additional fee).

Two month deposit to be paid at time of reservation. Rent to be paid monthly (in advance) on the 1st day of each month. Utility bills to be paid separately (20€ provision towards the electricity, water and local taxes). The oil tank for the central heating will be measured prior to your arrival and you will be required to refill the tank prior to your departure up to the original level. Tenants are required to upkeep the immediate garden surrounding the property (not the 7 hectares of pasture).
