This 4 bed detached house with garden for long term rentals, is situated in the charming village of Alloue, between the towns of Champagne-Mouton and Confolens, in the Charente department in southwest France. The Charente is a beautiful rural area of France, located just above Dordogne. The airports in Limoges and Poitiers are both just 50 mins away.

The house is laid out over 2 floors and comes with a large enclosed garden and a nice covered terrace for outdoor dining.
Ground floor
- The fitted kitchen comes with a tiled floor and a beamed ceiling. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, hob, and dishwasher, and has a centre island/breakfast bar and wood-burning cuisiniere (similar to an Aga).
- The kitchen leads to the dining room (14.5m2) which can seat 6 people.
- The large lounge (22m2) features a a wooden floor, beamed ceiling and exposed stone walls. The lounge has a small heater, flat screen TV and 2 comfortable sofas.
- There is a utility room (6m2) which contains storage and a boiler room.
- There is also a bathroom on this floor with a shower, WC, and heater.
First floor
- Bedroom 1 is currently used as a sitting room, but can easily be adapted back to a bedroom. The room is 16.5m2 and comes with a wooden floor and a heater.
- Bedroom 2 is a large room (25m2) and features a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a radiator. French windows lead out onto the balcony.
- Bedroom 3 is also a good-sized bedroom (16m2) and comes with a double bed, chest of drawers, radiator and wall-mounted TV. French windows lead out onto the balcony.
- Bedroom 4 is a smaller room (11m2) and contains a double bed, radiator and chest of drawers.
- The bathroom comes with a bath, shower, WC, hand basin and heated towel-rail.
Outside
- There is a single garage, which provides options for storage or parking.
- There is a large garden mainly laid to lawn, with fruit trees as well as almond and hazelnut trees.
- There is also a covered terrace area just behind the house for outdoor dining.

Area activities
The village of Alloue has a range of amenities, including a shop which is open every day, a public park, hairdresser, cafe, post office, beauty salon, school etc. Larger shops and supermarkets can be found in Champagne-Mouton and Confolens which are within a 10 to 15 minute drive. The larger towns of Limoges and Poitiers are only around an hour's drive away and both feature local airports.
This area of north-east Charente is known as the Charente-Limousin and features many lakes and areas of woodland. There are some beautiful walks nearby.
The old town of Confolens, with its bridge over the river Vienne, is a pleasant place to explore, as are the nearby villages of Brigueuil and Saint-Germain-de-Confolens. Not far from Brigueuil, the Chateau de Rochebrune is a small but picturesque moated castle.

There are TGV train stations in Poitiers, Limoges and Angoulême.

The airports at Limoges and Poitiers can both be accessed in under 1 hour.

The village of Alloue is located on the D740 road which runs in between Champagne-Mouton and Confolens. Limoges is 1 hour to the southeast and Poitiers is 1 hour to the north.
