Le Moulin de St Donat is a former hunting lodge which has been lovingly restored to provide 6 bathrooms and 6 bedrooms, as well as a private pool, tennis court and extensive grounds. This impressive property is close to the popular village of Callian and just a short drive to Cannes and the French Riviera coastline. The interior features exposed beams, stone walls and bespoke furniture.

This extensive property is laid out over 4 floors and comprises 6 bedrooms and 6 en suite bathrooms, to sleep up to 14 guests. The property comes with air conditioning in some areas, electric radiators and working fireplaces
Entrance level
- There is a beautiful designer kitchen featuring sleek rounded units, stone floor and a large seating area. A large patio door leads out from the kitchen to the swimming pool terrace.
- The lounge is accessed via an archway from the kitchen and features a large sofa and armchair and a flat screen TV set into the alcove of the original fireplace.
- There is a cinema room and games room (which is air conditioned). The room has a pool table and large flat screen TV.
- Bedroom 1 is a Family room containing a double bed, two single beds, and a large sitting area. This room is air conditioned.
- There is an en suite bathroom which comes with a corner bath, double sink and a large shower.
Middle Floor
- Bedroom 2 is fitted with 2 single beds and comes with an en suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower, double sink, WC.
- Bedroom 3 contains a double bed and an en suite bathroom with a shower, sink, WC.
- The Master bedroom features a King-sized bed and a beautiful en suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower, double sink and WC. The bedroom is air conditioned. Just off the bedroom, there is a private garden room/conservatory with a separate entrance.
Lower ground floor
- Bedroom 5 comes with a double bed and an en suite bathroom with shower, sink and WC.
- Bedroom 6 is fitted with a king size double bed and an en suite bathroom with shower, sink and WC.
- There is also a Guest WC on this floor.
Outside
- The extensive grounds (1.5 hectares) feature a large lawn area, a number of lovely fish ponds fed by a natural spring, a tennis court, and a large heated swimming pool.
- There is private parking for several cars.

Le Moulin is available for long term monthly rentals from October through to May. The minimum stay is usually 2 months. Prices will depend on the season and length of your stay. The property is not normally available for monthly rentals during June to September (where the high season price is €11,500 per week)

Area activities
Le Moulin de St Donat was originally an 18th Century hunting lodge and the cellars below the house date back at least 600 years. It is situated within its own grounds of 1.5 hectares. The top end of the land has a natural spring which the owner has cleverly adapted to form a series of delightful fish ponds. It is this spring which keeps the rest of the gardens green, even in high summer.
Just overlooking the house is the ancient Chapelle de St Donat. This tiny church has been the subject of extensive renovations.
The hilltop village of Callian is regarded as one of the prettiest villages in the Var department and provides plenty of restaurants, cafes, artisan stores and shops within the cobbled streets. The village is overlooked by an impressive medieval castle and is small enough to explore on foot. The village is about 15 mins walk. The nearby town of Montauroux has supermarkets.
The nearby Lac de Cassien offers a range of watersports including boats for hire, beaches etc. There are more than 30 golf courses within just one hour from the property, as well as excellent cycle paths and an Equestrian centre nearby.The nearby Le Domaine de Fayence Four Seasons Resort, is open to non-residents and provides excellent Spa facilities.
Other transport
There is a bus route from Callian to Cannes.
Airports
Nice airport is 40kms away, less than 1 hour by car. There are regular flights with AirFrance, British Airways, EasyJet and Ryanair.
Toulon airport is 75 minutes by car.
Driving directions
Callian is located just a short drive from the A8 motorway, which runs across the Cote d'Azur from Marseille to Nice.

One month's deposit to be paid at time of reservation. Rent to be paid either bfore arrival (for rentals less than 3 months in duration) or on the first day of each month (for longer stays). In addition to the monthly rent, there is a provision towards the utility bills (electricity, water and Wi-Fi). Minimum stay is usually 2 months. Pets may be accepted through prior agreement (with a small end of stay cleaning fee). References may be required.
