This stunning barn conversion is located in a beautiful area of Dordogne, with open countryside all around. The Dordogne is famous for its gastronomy, especially its Black Truffles, foie gras, Bergerac wines, chestnuts, walnuts and wild mushrooms. The local Périgueux sauce which is used in a lot of traditional dishes, is made from a reduction of white wine, carrots, shallots, veal stock and diced truffle.
The popular market town of Monpazier is just a couple of minutes away and is one of the prettiest towns in Dordogne. The town retains the original grid streets, a fortified castle and the ancient rampart walls. Monpazier offers a good range of shops, services and facilities, as well as a wide variety of festivals and events throughout the year (including the the Oyster and White Wine Festival and the Annual Nature Festival). There is a weekly market held on Thursdays throughout the year.
The popular medieval village of Issigeac is just 20 minutes down the road and here you will find a weekly market, 2 restaurants, a shop, friendly bar and a bank.

The landscape is dotted with beautiful Chateaux, lush vineyards and ancient villages.
The city of Bordeaux is one of the most walk-able cities in France. The city is located on the banks of the Gironde river and it is home to the longest shopping street in Europe, some fantastic restaurants and the excellent Cité du Vin - a futuristic-looking museum of wine making. Bordeaux is 1 hour 45 mins drive away, or just over an hour away on the train from Bergerac.
There are 3 golf courses within 45 mins drive (including the championship course at Château des Vigiers). Alternatively, you can explore the Dordogne landscape with its castles, vineyards and local markets by bike.
There is a train station in Bergerac with services to Paris, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Périgueux and Sarlat.
Bergerac airport is 40 mins drive from the barn and has regular flights from the UK (Bournemouth, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Southampton, Bristol, London Stansted, London City and East Midlands airport), Rotterdam and Brussels Charleroi.
Bordeaux airport is 1 hour 45 mins and Toulouse airport is 2 hours 20 mins.
