The Pavilion is a luxury 2 bed long term rentals property set in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region, at Saint-Émilion. The Pavilion is situated on the prestigious Clos des Jacobins wine estate, which has been producing wine since the 17th Century. The property is surrounded by vineyards and the celebrated Clos des Jacobins Grand Cru Classé wine is produced in the wine cellars on site.
The Pavilion offers the perfect base for a wine buying tour of Saint-Émilion or a house hunting trip to the Bordeaux region. The local airports in Bordeaux and Bergerac are both 50 mins drive and the fast TGV train from Paris arrives just a few kilometres away at Libourne.
The Pavilion is available for rent for between October to March from €2,000 per month + bills. The minimum stay is normally 3 months. Sorry, as this is a working vineyard, pets are not accepted.

The Pavilion is located in the grounds of Chateau Clos des Jacobins and is laid out all on one floor
- You enter into the impressive open plan living room. The living room is full of light and the high ceiling provides a real sense of space.
- The lounge features a comfortable sofa, coffee table and a TV (with international channels). A set of French windows provide access out onto the terrace.
- The sleek modern kitchen comes with an oven, hob, dishwasher, large fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster and espresso coffee machine. The property is also equipped with a full set of crockery, cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils.
- The large dining table provides seating for 6-8 people. A set of French windows provide access out onto the terrace.
- There is a guest toilet in the hallway.
- Bedroom 1 features a King-size double bed, fitted wardrobes and an en-suite bathroom. The bathroom is equipped with a bath, with overhead shower; a wash basin and WC.
- Bedroom 2 has lovely views out over the garden and is fitted with a King-size double bed. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, wash basin and WC. A set of French windows provide access out onto the side terrace and garden.
Outside
- The Pavilion is surrounded by large grounds of the Chateau, with mature trees and several seating/outdoor dining areas. Beyond the garden, you have the vineyards in all directions and the grapes are still picked by hand.
- The swimming pool is 8m x 4m and features an electric cover. The pool is surrounded by a sun terrace. The pool is normally open between May to October, but can be available for cold water swimming over the winter period.
- There is parking for several cars.
- The wine cellars of Clos des Jacobins are located behind the Chateau. Tours can be arranged of the wine making facilities.

The Pavilion can be rented on a monthly basis between October to March. The minimum stay is normally 3 months. In addition to the rent, there is a provision of €275 per month towards the electricity, water, Wi-Fi and heating. The Pavilion can also be rented in conjunction with the 3 bed Chateau (providing accommodation for 10 people in 5 en suite bedrooms).

Last visited: July 2024. What better place to stay if you are an appreciator of fine wines, than on a celebrated wine estate in the heart of the Boredeaux vineyards in Saint-Émilion. Wine has been produced on the estate since the 17th Century and you can touch and see the vineyards all around and witness how this famous wine is made. This 2 bed long term rentals property provides luxury accommodation for you and your family. The nearby Chateau can also be rented in conjunction with the Pavilion, to provide accommodation for up to 10 guests.

The World famous vineyards in Saint-Émilion have been producing high quality Bordeaux wines since Roman times. Perched on the banks of the Dordogne river, Saint Emilion benefits from gentle south-facing slopes, limestone and clay soils and a mild climate - all perfect for growing vines. St-Emilion is located 40 km north-east of Bordeaux and 50 km west of Bergerac and the town now has a population of 1,876 inhabitants. The vineyards surrounding St Emilion are officially classifed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site and welcome over 1 million visitors each year. The landscape is dotted with beautiful Chateaux, lush vineyards and ancient villages.
The Pavilion is located in the grounds of Clos des Jacobins, a Chateau which dates back to the early 19th Century. The Clos des Jacobins wine estate is perched on top of a hillside, at the entrance to the medieval town of Saint-Émilion. Wines have been produced on the estate since the 17th century and the they have been awarded the Grand Cru Classé since their inception. Clos des Jacobins owes its name to the Benedictine monks who were named 'Jacobins' in reference to the name of the convent in Paris (Saint-Jacques) where the monks originated. The Jacobins used the farm's buildings to welcome pilgrims and the wines they cultivated were their main source of income.
Clos des Jacobins encompasses 8.5 hectares of vines which are aged 30 years on average. The vines are set in a mixture of limestone and clay soil, which benefits from the sediment erosion of the limestone plateau above Saint-Emilion. This location, combined with the southern exposure, constitutes a unique terroir for producing wines.

There is a TGV train station just down the road in Libourne, with fast train services to Paris and Bordeaux.

Bordeaux airport is 50 mins drive. Bergerac airport in Dordogne is 50 mins.
Driving directions
Saint-Emilion is located mid-way between Bordeaux and Bergerac, close to the town of Libourne. The A89 motorway can be reached in 5 mins.
