Maison Verte is a lovely 2 bed house for long term rentals situated in the popular town of Carcassonne in Southern France. The house comes with a private terrace/garden, central heating and is located on a quite street with free-parking. The house is walking distance to the centre of Carcassonne, where you will find plenty of restaurants, shops, cafes and weekly markets. Carcassonne has a train station and a local airport (with flights across Europe).
The house is available for long term rentals of up to 12 months from €850 per month + bills. Pets may be accepted through prior agreement (limited to one older dog).

This very comfortable house is laid out all on one level and comes with central heating and fibre internet.
- The long entrance hall provides access to all the rooms and out to the courtyard at the back of the house.
- Immediately to the right, you have the well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen comes with a central bar/island which also functions as the dining area. The kitchen has an oven, hotplate, Espresso machine, a free-standing fridge-freezer and storage units.
- To the left, there is the good-sized lounge, which has a comfortable sofa, lamps and antique sideboards.
- The stylish bathroom features a walk-in shower and wash basin. There is a separate WC.
- Bedroom 1 is a large double bedroom.
- Bedroom 2 has a single bed (with space for a second bed). There is a large fitted wardrobe.
Outside
There is a spacious courtyard, with seating area, sun bathing area and a traditional barbecue.
There is a Laundry room which also provides additional storage.
There is free parking on the street (non-reserved) and there is a car park at the end of the street.

The house is available for long term rentals of up to 12 months. In addition to the rent, there is a monthly provision of €250 towards the electricity, heating, water and Wi-Fi. Pets may be accepted through prior agreement. Minimum stay is 3 months (although longer periods preferred).

Last visited: October 2025. This house in Carcassonne is set in a great location, on a quiet residential street on the edge of the town centre. Carcassonne is one of the most-visited towns in the South of France and is home to 2 UNESCO World Heritage sites (Carcassonne Castle and the Canal du Midi) and in the summer it is home to a very popular music and arts festival. In just a short walk, you can explore all the shops, restaurants and markets. Carcassonne train station is just 10 mins walk, with services to Bordeaux, Toulouse, Marseille, Montpellier and Narbonne (where you can pick up the TGV to Paris).
Inside, the house feels a real home from home, with good quality furnishings and decoration. The courtyard/terrace is a real bonus. The house is ideal for remote workers, house-hunters or people who want to take a well-earned sabbatical.

Carcassonne has all the amenities of a mid-sized city - an airport, a bus station, and a mainline train station that connects to major cities throughout France. There is a good selection of cafes, bars and restaurants, together with the many supermarkets, shops, museums, a theatre and cinemas. There is also a lively farmer’s market three days a week and you can cycle along the Canal du Midi to local villages or rent a boat. Carcassonne enjoys an international reputation and welcomes several million visitors every year.
Carcassonne is famous for its castle, which is the second most-visited historical monument outside of Paris. The castle is classed as an UNESCO World Heritage site and is known locally as La Cité.
The Languedoc region is known for its natural beauty, historical landmarks and has a rich history of artisanal craftsmanship going back to the Medieval times. Today there are many thriving artistic communities that continue to attract artists, writers, and other creatives from all around the world. The surrounding landscape is a picturesque mix of Medieval villages, rolling vineyards, olive groves and the foothills of the Pyrenees. The region has some of the best preserved nature in all of France, perfect for birdwatching, hiking and other activities for absorbing yourself in nature.
The Mediterranean coastline can be accessed in 45 mins, with many impressive sandy beaches such as Gruissan Plage, Narbonne Plage and Le Franqui Plage. The local Corbieres hills and the fertile plains of the Minervois, both produce some of the best wines in Southern France..
The Canal du Midi, also an UNESCO World Heritage Site, flows through the centre of Carcassonne, on its journey from Toulouse in the West to the Mediterranean coast in the East.
Other transport
Carcassonne Railway Station is 10 minutes walk from the house. You can catch trains to Bordeaux, Toulouse, Narbonne, Perpignan, Montpellier and Marseille.
Airports
Carcassonne has its own airport, with Ryanair flights to the UK (Manchester, London and East Midlands), Brussels, Ireland (Dublin & Cork) and Portugal.
Toulouse airport has a wider selection of flights and is 1 hour away.
Driving directions
Carcassonne is located close to the A62 motorway which runs in between Narbonne and Toulouse.
