La Bastide is a charming 2 bed cottage for long term rent in the beautiful hilltop village of Neffies, close to Pezenas in South France. The cottage has recently been renovated and provides comfortable accommodation for a couple or small family. The cottage benefits from private parking, a balcony with views over the surrounding countryside and a sunny terrace at the front.
Available for long term rentals of up to 12 months from 1 July 2025 for €750 per month + bills.

The property is built into the fortified stone walls of the an ancient fortress which once stood on this site. The cottage provides 60m2 of living accommodation and is laid out over 2 floors.
Ground floor
You enter the cottage up a small set of stone steps and into the open plan kitchen and dining room.
- The fully-fitted kitchen is equipped with an oven, hob, fridge-freezer & dishwasher. A doorway leads out from the kitchen onto the back balcony.
- The dining table seats up to 6 people.
- An archway leads through to the comfortable lounge. There is a large sofa, coffee table, book case, a wood burner, a TV (with Netflix and international channels available).
- Also on this floor, there is a WC with sink, storage and tumble dryer
First floor
- There are 2 double bedrooms, both with storage.
- There is a brand new bathroom with bath/shower, toilet, vanity unit and washing machine.
Outside
- At the front of the cottage there is a small terrace with seating for 2 chairs and a small table. The terrace catches the sun for most of the morning and early afternoon.
- At the rear of the cottage there is a balcony with 2 chairs and a table.
- There is a parking space behind the cottage for one car.

The cottage can be rented for up to 12 months. Higher prices may apply to shorter rental periods (especially over the summer). In addition to the rent, there is a monthly provision of €150 towards the utility bills (electricity, water and Wi-Fi). Pets maybe considered.

Last visited: April 2025. The cottage provides comfortable accommodation for a couple or a small family. The cottage is set in the heart of the sought-after village of Neffies in South France, just 30 mins from the Mediterranean coast. The village features 2 excellent restaurants, a small shop and a popular wine bar, primary school and a small weekly market. The nearby village of Roujan features a large supermarket. The historic town of Pezenas is just down the road and the cities of Beziers and Montpellier can both be reached in 30 mins.

This beautiful cottage for long term rentals is situated in the pretty village of Neffies. This is an excellent spot for visitors to explore this beautiful corner of France, with stunning scenery and excellent local vineyards - the Faugeres wine appellation produces some of the best wines in the area.
Neffies is located on the edge of the “Parc Naturel regional du Haute-Languedoc” and there are some beautiful drives, cycle routes and hiking trails nearby.
In the village there is a bakers, for your daily baguette and morning croissants. A van visits once a week selling fresh seafood, including local oysters and mussels direct from the producers. The village also provides a post office, children’s play area and tennis courts. The family-friendly bar serves decent food at lunchtimes and evenings, with great views from their terrace. Alternatively, one of the best restaurants in the area (Le Very'Table) is tucked behind Neffies’ Gothic church. There is also a newly opened tapas wine-bar, perfect for meeting friends for an apero.
Less than fifteen minutes drive away is the ancient market town of Pezenas, with it`s atmospheric old quarter, artist’s studios, boutiques and wide variety of bars and restaurants. There is also a fabulous market on Saturday, and a cinema showing English language films. A thirty-five minute drive will take you to the Mediterranean coastal resorts where you’ll find long stretches of sandy beaches with safe, shallow waters for swimming, all kinds of water sports, and a lively buzz in the cafes and bars.
Explore the bustling port of Sete, built on a confluence of canals, and watch the local spectacle of water jousting. Meander through the narrow cobbled streets of the regional capital, Montpellier, with its shady squares and exclusive boutiques.
Other transport
There is a TGV train station located at Montpellier, Beziers and Agde. Local bus services run from each of these towns to Pezenas, with connecting bus routes to Roujan and Neffies.

The village of Neffies is located in between the cities of Montpellier and Beziers, close to the Languedoc coast in South France. The village is 15 mins north-west of Pezenas, where you can access the A75 motorway which runs down from Paris to Southern France.
