The farmhouse dates back to 1780 and is located in the Charente-Maritime department in western France, just 1 hour from the beautiful coastal city of La Rochelle. This area of France is famous for the production of the Cognac brandy and the town of Cognac is just 20 mins from the farmhouse. The house has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large swimming pool and a fully enclosed garden.
The farmhouse is available for long term rentals of 6-8 months from €1250 per month + bills. The Owner is happy to accept pets through prior agreement

The farmhouse is built in the traditional 'longer' style, which is popular in this area of France. The house retains many original features such as exposed roof beams and comes with central heating and fibre internet.
Ground floor
- The lounge is a large space (5m x 9m) and comes with a log burner, 2 sofas and a TV.
- The lounge leads on to the dining room which has exposed beams and a corner bar. The dining table can seat 6 people, and then into the eat in

First floor
- Bedroom 1 is a nice double bedroom with en suite bathroom.
- Bedroom 2 is a good-sized double bedroom.
- Bedroom 3 is a twin bedroom and comes with an en suite shower room.
- There is an additional bathroom which comes with a bath with overhead shower, wash basin and WC.
- There is also a mezzanine sitting room, which is a nice quiet space with 2 sofas.
Outside:
- The main property is fully fenced and pet friendly. There is an additional meadow and stream next door which also belongs to the house and mainly grassed.
- There is a covered eating area, plus patio directly outside the kitchen. The house also comes with a double garage, summer house and large workshop.

During 2026, the house is available for long term rentals from 1 May 2026 to April 2027. Thereafter, the house is available for long term rentals from October to April each year. In addition to the rent, there is a monthly provision of €250 towards the electricity, water, heating and Wi-Fi. Guests are also responsible for cutting the lawn and maintaining the garden. Pets accepted through prior agreement. Minimum stay is normally 6 months. Please note, higher prices apply to rentals over the summer months

The farmhouse provides very comfortable long term accommodation in a quiet corner of France. La Rochelle and the beaches along the Atlantic coast are just over an hour away. The local village has a shop and some services and supermarkets are located 6 km from the farmhouse. The house is fully furnished with quality items and electrical appliances. The enclosed garden is ideally set up for pets.
At the rear of the farmhouse, there is a small farm and independent Cognac distillery. The distillery is not open to the public and there is minimal noise.

The farmhouse is located close to the small village of Migron, which lies on the border between the Charente-Maritime and Charente departments. The village has a population of around 700 people and comes with a butcher (he also sells bread and vegetables), post office, hair dresser plus an active salle de fete with lots of activities throughout the year.
The nearest supermarket is in Burie - 6km away and has a petrol station, boulangerie, bar, hair dresser, pharmacy. The next nearest is Matha (10 mins away) which has a Intermarche hypermarket, hardware and bars and restaurants. 20 mins away are the towns of Cognac, St. Jean d’Angele and Saintes - all of which have lots of activities/bars, shopping etc.
