This well-equipped cottage for long term rentals is located on a Stud farm on the border of Dordogne, close to the popular town of Eymet. The cottage comes with 2 large bedrooms, a bathroom and open plan living room. The cottage has air conditioning (reversible for heating) and plenty of parking. Outside there is a private terrace which looks out over fields and an 18th century timber barn. The stud farm is spread over 20 hectares and currently contains 47 breeding horses and foals. It is located within lush green countryside, with plenty of local walks. There is also a large fishing lake.
This 2 bedroom cottage is available for long term rentals of up to 12 months from €750 per month + bills. Well-behaved pets will be accepted through prior agreement.

The cottage is approached via a long driveway and is located next to the main farm buildings. The cottage is laid out over 2 floors. The Owners of the farm live in a separate house across the main farmyard.
Ground floor
- You enter into the main open-plan living room which looks out over the fields.
- There is a dining table which can seat 4-6 people.
- The lounge comes with 2 comfortable armchairs and a flat screen TV (with some international channels + Netflix connection)
- The kitchen is equipped with an microwave combi-oven, hob, large fridge-freezer and washing machine. There is a full set of cutlery, plates, cups and cooking utensils.
First floor
- Bedroom 1 is a large double bedroom with a dressing area. The bedroom is air conditioned.
- Bedroom 2 is a twin room with a large wardrobe and sitting area. The bedroom is air conditioned.
- The bathroom comes with a large walk-in shower and a large wash basin. There is a separate WC.
- There is also a small storage room on this floor which contains the hot water tank, hoover and ironing board.
Outside
- There is a small terrace outside the cottage with a table and chairs. The terrace will be fenced by the Owner.
- Next to the cottage there is parking for several cars.
- Surrounding the farm their are numerous grazing pastures for the horses, as well as an exercise pen. The farm also contains a large lake for fishing.

The cottage can be rented on a monthly basis for up to 12 months. The minimum stay is normally 3 months. The prices quoted are based on a 6 month stay. In addition to the rent, there is a monthly provision of €175 towards the electricity, water and Wi-Fi. As the cottage is located on a working stud farm, the Owner must be reassured that any pets staying at the cottage will not disturb the horses or other animals.

Last visited: September 2024. This cottage is located on a working stud farm in the heart of the countryside, close to the border of Dordogne. The farm comes with 20 hectares of land and even has a large lake where you can fish. If you love horses and you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay in Dordogne, then L'Écurie cottage is the perfect place. Inside the cottage is well-equipped for your stay all year around.

The prices quoted are based on a 6 month rental period. Higher prices may apply to rentals over the summer period and for shorter rentals. Utility bills are payable in addition to the rent.

Area activities
The cottage is located in a rural setting in between the villages of Sérignac-Péboudou and Lauzun. The popular market town of Eymet is just a short drive away.
Eymet is one of the prettiest towns in Dordogne. The town has a population of around 2,500 people. The town retains the original grid streets, a fortified castle and the ancient rampart walls.
Eymet is located in the south of Dordogne, and is located in the Dropt valley. Eymet offers a good range of shops, services and facilities. It has a cultural centre and cinema, a wide variety of festivals and events throughout the year (including the the Oyster and White Wine Festival and the Annual Nature Festival), as well as numerous places to eat. There is a weekly market held on Thursdays throughout the year.
In Eymet there is a public and a private nursery, as well as a primary school (bilingual) and a high school (up to 16 years).
Other transport
There is a train station in the nearby town of Bergerac. A local bus service runs from the village of Lauzun to Eymet, with a connecting bus service to Bergerac.
Airports
The nearest airport is located in Bergerac (30 mins). The airport provides daily flights to the UK (London Stansted) and Rotterdam; and seasonal flights to the UK (Birmingham, East Midlands, Bournemouth, Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester, Southampton and Leeds-Bradford), Brussels, Croatia, Egypt, Malta and Majorca. One month deposit to be paid at time of reservation (this will become the security deposit for your stay). Rent to be paid in advance for reservations of 3 months. For longer rental periods, the rent can be paid on the first day of each month. In addition to the rent, there is a provision of €175 per month towards the electricity, water, and WiFi. Firewood to be purchased separately.
The cottage is located on a working stud farm. Whilst pets may be accepted (through prior agreement with the Owners), great care must be taken by the customers that the horses are not disturbed.
The cottage is located in the countryside and a car is essential.
