This former fisherman's cottage is located in the heart of the historic center of Marseillan, one of the oldest towns in France. Marseillan is located on the banks of the Etang du Thau, a salt water lake separated from the Mediterranean sea by a thin strip of beach. The Etang du Thau produces some of the finest oysters and mussels in France, often found on the tables of 5 star restaurants in Paris.
This cosy cottage comes with 1 bedroom and a beautiful roof terrace. Boulangeries, cafés, shops and harbourside estaurants are all within walking distance. The Mediterranean beaches at Marseillan Plage are 5 mins away.

The cottage is located in the centre of Marseillan, on a quiet mainly pedestrian street. The house was fully renovated in 2023 and provides 60m2 of living accommodation. The house comes with air conditioning (reversible for heat in the winter) and a good Wi-Fi connection.
Ground floor
- You enter into the living room, which comes with a comfortable sofa, arm chair and coffee table.
- There is also a WC on this floor.
First floor
- The double bedroom is a lovely room with exposed stone walls and a a small Juliette balcony. There is a Queen-size double bed (160cm x 200cm), a chest of drawers and a cupboard with hanging space.
- Next to the bedroom there is a bathroom with a walk-in shower and wash basin.
Top floor
There is an open plan kitchen-diner, with access out onto the terrace.
- The small kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, percolator, induction cooker and electric oven, toaster, kettle, citrus press, and blender. There is a washing machine.
- The dining table can seat 2-4 people
Outside
- The roof terrace comes with a small outdoor lounge area, a BBQ and a hammock. This is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or a glass of local rosé in the Mediterranean sun.
- Two vintage folding bikes are at your disposal as well as a picnic set for a lovely lunch or dinner at the beach.
- There is free (public) parking near the house.

This cute cottage for long term rentals is located in the beautiful harbour town of Marseillan in South France. With the benefit of a private terrace and walking distance to all the facilities and shops in Marseillan, the cottage is the ideal accommodation for some winter sun for a couple or single person. The house has a spiral staircase which may not be suitable for people with reduced mobility.

Marseillan is situated between Cap d’Agde and Séte -worth a visit- which are connected by the long sandy beaches of the Mediterranean. It is one of the three fisherman villages along the Etang de Thau. The nearest cities are Pézenas, Béziers, and Montpellier, all lovely places to visit. The area is known for its Mediterranean lifestyle, seafood, wines (Picpoul wines are only made here), (night)markets, brocante, authentic villages with many summer festivities and beautiful beaches.
There are plenty of water activities to enjoy: sailing, surfing, supping, canoeing, wake boarding, boating, swimming or simply walk along the Etang or the Mediterranean Sea. If you prefer to stay on the shore, grab our vintage folding bicycles and explore Marseillan by bike. Or rent a bike and cycle around the Etang (60km). If you would like to explore the wider area there are many beautiful hikes and bike tours to enjoy.

Driving directions
