This 3 bed Provence stone farmhouse to rent in France long term is located at the top of a hill in an ancient hamlet, close to the popular town of Forcalquier. This beautiful area of Provence is known as the Luberon and it provides an authentic glimpse of French country living.
The famhouse comes with a swimming pool, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and is set within 30 hectares of land, with commanding views over the Provence countryside. The rental will ideally suit customers who want to enjoy total peace and tranquility and have the facilities to enable remote working.
Available for rent between October to May from €1750 per month + bills. Pets maybe accepted through prior agreement. 12 month rentals maybe possible, although the rental price will be higher.

The farmhouse is located in a small hamlet of 4 houses. The farmhouse provides 157m2 of living space and is built on two levels. It comes with a working fireplace, central heating, exposed oak beams and 4G Wi-Fi internet
Ground floor
The Key house feature is the 48m2 "voute", formerly a stable and an agricultural storage room with a curved barrel vaulted ceiling. Built over 400 years ago it is the centre piece of the house keeping it warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
- The entrance leads into the fully fitted country kitchen with exposed oak beams. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, coffee percolator and fridge-freezer. Next to the kitchen there is a washing machine. The kitchen leads on to the main living room.
- The lounge area features two sofas, arm chairs, a flat-screen TV with international channels, a DVD with a library of movies and a quality hi-fi system. There is a large fireplace which is the focal point of the room.
- The dining area has a table and chairs for 4 people.
- There is a large bathroom on the ground floor with a bath, overhead shower, wash basin and WC..
First floor
- Bedroom 1 is a spacious room with a Queen-sized bed. The bedroom featurs and exposed stone wall and wooden floor.
- Bedroom 2 is fitted with twin beds and has lovely views out of the garden.
- Bedroom 3 has a large single bed with a brass bed head.
Outside:
- The 10x4.5 meter swimming pool comes with panoramic mountain views. Surrounding the pool there is a sun terrace with sun loungers.
- There is an outside dining area for 6 people and a Gas burner BBQ.
- The farmhouse has a separate parking area. Please note that the track up to the farmhouse is rough and not suitable for sports cars or Campervans (the Owner does have 4x4 vehicles available for hire).

You can rent this farmhouse in France on a long term basis between October to May. Set in over 30 hectares of natural Parkland and accessed by its own country track, This farmhouse in Provence offers a unique experience of French country living. The property is remote and access to the farmhouse is along an unmade track. The town of Forcalquier is nearby, but this rental will ideally suit somebody who wants an off-the-grid living experience in Provence, but with all the creature comforts of modern life. You will simply arrive and not want to leave.

Area activities
Tucked away on a small hillside, the farmhouse is located within the little hamlet of La Colle. The hamlet was constructed several hundred years ago and completely built of natural stone. Within five minutes walk in any direction you are presented with all the delights of rural Provence - by the splendor of nature, prairie, forest, lavender fields, forests, water falls, open prairies and amazing wildlife.
This area has been visited by World renowned Artists like Cezanne, Matisse, Seurat, Picasso and Bonnard. There are hundreds of little villages and small towns in Provence waiting to be discovered. Here is a small selection of some of the sights worth a visit:
The hilltop towns of Gordes and Roussillon are 1 hours drive to the West. Further on, you will find the stunning city of Avignon - formerly the home of the Vatican for 70 years. Here you can also discover the hilltop fort at les Baux de Provence and the market town of Saint Remy de Provence. - is 1 hour 30 mins.
To the East you have the town of Sisteron, perched on the edge of the river. Nearby, there is the Plateau de Valensole with its spectacular lavender fields. Drive a little further to visit the Gorge du Verdon river and the the lakes of St.Croix and Esparon.
To the South, the historic town of Aix en Provence is one hour away and the city of Marseille is 90 mins. On the Mediterranean coast you will find the stunning seaside towns of Cassis, Carry-le-Rouet and Sausset.
Forcalquier is the principal town serving the area. There are two supermarkets, and a host of small shops, cafes and restaurants. The weekly market in Forcalquier is held on Mondays.
Other transport
There is a TGV train station near Aix-en-Provence and in Avignon.
Airports
The nearest airport is located at Marseille (90 mins). There is a smaller airport at Avignon, with some seasonal low cost flights to the UK and Belgium.
Driving directions
The town of Forcalquier is located close to the A51 dual carriageway, providing fast access down to Aix-en-Provence, the A8 motorway and Marseille
