Los Masos is a beautiful large 5 bed property for long term rentals set in a quaint French village close to the lovely town of Prades in Southern France. The house has breath-taking views of the Pyrenees and provides easy access to the Mediterranean beaches surrounding Perpignan.
This house in the Pyrenees is available for long term rentals from €1,000 per month + bills. Higher prices will apply to rentals over the summer period.

This stone built property is laid out over 3 floors. The house features a high triple ceiling in the living room, with gallery floors located on the first and second levels.
Ground floor living area:
- The impressive lounge area contains a large U-shaped sofa (which can form 2 double beds), coffee table, antique sideboard, a large fireplace with wood burner, TV and sound system.
- The kitchen features a breakfast bar, oven, induction hob, large fridge-freezer, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. The house comes with a full set of plates, cutlery and cooking utensils.
- Next to the kitchen there is a dining area with a table seating 6-8 people.
Bedrooms and bathrooms:
The house comes with 2 standard bedrooms and 3 open rooms located on the large gallery floors
- The Master bedroom features a large double bed and has access out to the large terrace.
- Bedroom 2 has a standard sized double bed, chest of drawers and armchair.
- Bedroom 3 is located on the first floor gallery. It comes with a Queen-sized bed.
- Bedroom 4 is situated on the second floor gallery. It contains a standard double bed.
- Bedroom 5 comes with a set of bunk beds.
- Bathroom 1 contains a corner bath with overhead shower, WC and wash basin. The bathroom also contains the washing machine.
- Bathroom 2 is fitted with a shower cubicle, WC and wash basin.
- There is a separate WC with wash basin.
Outside:
- There is a good-sized terrace with amazing mountain views. The terrace comes with a BBQ and patio table and chairs.

The house is available for rentals of up to 12 months. In addition to the monthly rent, there is a provision of €225 per month towards the electricity, water, Wi-Fi and local taxes. Firewood to be purchased separately. Minimum stay is usually 3 months, although longer rental periods are preferred.

Area activities
Los Masos is located on the outskirts of the town of Prades, which is 40 mins west of Perpignan and 50 mins to the Spanish border. The town has around 6,000 people and provides a good range of local services, including supermarkets, schools, shops, a local hospital and leisure facilities.
The village is situated at the foot of Mount Canigou (2784M), the famous Catalan mountain and a trail up to the mountain starts at 4km behind the house.
Nearby, you will find the spa town Vernet le Bains (12km), which was developed from 1846 around the local hot spring waters. The spa resort was visited regularly by the British writer, Ruyard Kipling, author of the Jungle Book.
Also closeby, is Villefranche-de-Conflent (10km), a medieval fortified town, which was founded in 1092 and extensively rebuilt during the 14th and 15th centuries. The town is an UNESCO World Heritage site. The hill fort of Fort Liberia sits 150m above Villefranche and was built in 1681, after the French King seized control of this part of the Pyrenees from the Spanish. The fort is connected to the town of Villefranche by an underground staircase of 734 steps built between 1850 and 1853 on the orders of Napoleon III.
The nearby ski resorts of Les Angles and Font Romeu can be accessed in 40 mins. The principality of Andora is a short drive away and the Spanish border is just 50 mins drive.
Other transport
There is a train station in Prades (with services to the local towns of Vernet and Ille-sur-Tet). The train station at Ille-sur-Têt has train services to Perpignan.
There is a local bus service between Perpignan and Prades.
Airports
The nearest airport is located at Perpignan, which is a base for Ryanair flights to London and Brussels.
Girona airport is 1 hour 20 mins away.
Driving directions
Los Masos is situated about 50 km from both the Mediterranean coast and the ski resorts near Font‑Romeu. It lies 40 mins to the west of Perpignan.
