Maison des Fleurs is a charming 2 bed town house located in the heart of the picturesque village of Thezan-des-Corbieres, close to the city of Narbonne in South France. The village is nestled within the Corbieres hills, with vineyards stretching out in all directions. The Mediterranean coast is just 25 mins away, with beautiful beaches at Gruissan Plage, Port Nouvelle and Leucate Plage. The old Roman city of Narbonne can be reached in 20 mins and Carcassonne airport (with annual flights to the UK & Ireland) is just 40 mins away.
The house was built in the 1700s and comes with a lounge, kitchen-diner, a double bedroom, single bedroom, air conditioning and a lovely balcony where you can enjoy a glass of wine or morning coffee.
Maison des Fleurs is available for long term rentals from 3 to 6 months from €600 per month + bills. Pets may be considered by the Owner (through prior agreement).

The house is laid out over 3 floors and provides 55 m2 of living space. The house comes with Wi-Fi and electric radiators in all rooms. There is air conditioning on the top floor.
Ground floor
There is a good sized kitchen-diner and a WC.
- The kitchen includes an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fan, refrigerator, sink, cupboards and shelves. There are a good range of cooking utensils, as well as a large quantity of crockery and cutlery.
- The dining area is furnished with a table and chairs, a sofa and a chest of drawers filled with cookbooks, novels and guide books.
- There is a toilet with wash basin.
First floor
- The living room is equipped with a sofa and two comfortable chairs, a table and a wall-mounted DVD player. A large DVD library is provided.
- French doors lead to a small sunny balcony, perfect for your morning coffee and croissants, or a glass of wine in the evening.
- There is a bathroom with walk-in shower and wash basin. Please note, the toilet is located on the ground floor
Second floor
- Bedroom 1 is a comfortable double bedroom which is furnished with a mix of French antique furniture.
- Bedroom 2 is a quaint single bedroom. The single bed is adult size and is stocked with linens. In this room there are board games and DVDs suitable for children.
Outside
You can drive up to the house and unload luggage and shopping, but it is not permitted to park on the street itself. There are plenty of parking spaces in the village square (one minute from the house) and also on the high street of the village.

Maison des Fleurs is available to rent on a 3 month rental contract (with an option to renew for a second 3 month period). In addition to the rent, there is a monthly provision of €175 euros towards the electricity, water, Wi-Fi and local taxes. Minimum stay is normally 3 months. The maximum occupancy is limited to 2 people (with occasional guests). Pets are limited to one small dog/cat. Where pets are accepted, there is an end of stay deep cleaning fee of €150.

Maison des Fleurs is a lovely place for a single person or couple to relax and unwind for a few months in the South of France. The house is equipped with everything that you could need for a long stay and is ideally located close to Narbonne and the Mediterranean coast. Being just 10 mins from the local motorway and just 40 mins from Carcassonne airport, makes it very easy to get to the village.

The rental is for the entire property. The prices quoted are based on a 3 month rental period. Higher prices may apply to rentals over the summer period and for shorter rentals. Utility bills and communal taxes are payable in addition to the rent.

Area activities
Thézan-des-Corbiers is a vibrant & friendly little village. The village is located within the Corbières hills and the vineyards of the Corbières wine region stretch out in all directions from the village. For such a small village it is quite well served with amenities. The Tabac offers cigarettes and newspapers and stationery plus an eclectic assortment of items including light bulbs and plasters. It also functions as the village Post Office, plus it serves a wonderful takeaway coffee. The village Grocery store (Epicerie) sells quite a good selection of essential goods and some fresh vegetables and fruit and your morning croissant and baguette (probably best to order in advance). The village Pizzeria sells pizzas to take away but you can sit outside at a small table and eat there if you wish. They have a selection of beers and wines and also offer charcuterie and cheese platters plus burgers if you don't fancy a pizza.
Twice a week vans selling fresh fruit and vegetables, and others selling fish and meat, congregate in the village square to make a small market. The arrival of the vans is announced over the village tannoy by Hélène in the Mairie's office. Her broadcasts always start with the words "allo . . . 'allo . . .". Local supermarkets can be found in St Laurent de la Cabrerisse (6 km) where there is a Spa supermarket and just 14 km away, on the road to Lezignan Corbieres, where there are two large supermarkets (Intermarche and Carrefour) plus an Aldi and Lidl supermarket in the town itself.
The villages of St Laurent and Fabrezan (8km away) have several restaurants and bars, and in Ferrals les Corbieres (9km away) you will find the Chez Bambe, a lively restaurant with live music some nights. The nearby towns of Lezignan-Corbieres and Narbonne have a wonderful choice of Restaurants.
You can reach the Mediterranean coast in 25 mins and you will find some lovely beaches at Gruissan Plage, Port Nouvelle and Leucate Plage.
Narbonne is a great city to explore with some lovely shopping streets and a fabulous indoor market, located on the banks of the Canal Robine.
Other transport
There is a TGV train station in Narbonne, which has fast train services to Paris, Montpellier, Marseille, Toulouse, Perpignan and Barcelona.

Driving directions
Thezan-des-Corbieres is located close to the Mediterranean coast, in between the cities of Narbonne and Perpignan. The A61 motorway is just 10 mins from the village and this provides quick access to Narbonne (20 mins), Carcassonne (40 mins) and Toulouse (1 hour 20 mins). At Narbonne, the motorway joins up with the A9 motorway which runs up to Beziers and Montpellier and down to Perpignan and the Spanish border (1 hour).
