Maison des Glacières is a charming 3 bed unfurnished rental in the beautiful historic town of Pezenas in South France. The house comes with 3 good-sized bedrooms, a newly fitted kitchen, spacious lounge and a bathroom with a full bath with overhead shower. The house is laid out on 3 floors and comes with lovely views over a park at the rear. There is free street parking opposite the house and the centre of town is just an easy stroll away.
Rue des Glacières derives its name from the historical use of the area as a site for storing ice. Blocks of ice were harvested from local waterways during winter and stored in small structures called glacières, helping to preserve food and cool drinks in summer.
The house is available for long term rentals of up to 12 months from €700 per month + bills.

Ground floor
There is a front door, with steps leading up to the first floor and secure entrance to the house.
First floor
You arrive into the main living room.
- Immediately in front of you is Bedroom 1 (10m2), with views overlooking a park at the rear.
- The lounge is a good size and comes with an original fireplace and a large antique wardrobe. The large window allows plenty of light into the room.
- Just off the lounge, there is the kitchen. The kitchen comes with an oven, induction hob, microwave and dishwasher. There is space for a large upright fridge-freezer.
Second floor

- The main bedroom is 14m2 and is located at the front of the house. It comes with a double bed and an antique wardrobe.
- Bedroom 3 is a good size (10m2) and has nice views over the park at the rear of the house.
- A corridor leads down to the bathroom, which comes with a bath (with overhead shower) and wash basin. There is a separate WC.
Outside
- There is street parking immediately opposite the house.
- The centre of Pezenas is a 2-3 minute walk.

The house is available for rentals of 6-12 months, with an option to extend on a 12 monthly basis. In addition to the rent, tenants must pay for the electricity and internet (with a supplier of their choosing) and there is a standard €50 charge for the water.

The house is located on a quiet residential street, close to the heart of centre of Pezenas. Inside, the house has been renovated to a good-standard, with travertine floor tiles on the first floor and wood flooring on the second floor. The house is bright and airy and comes equipped with a nice kitchen and bathroom. Tenants will need to furnish the house with a washing machine, fridge-freezer, lounge furniture and beds for two of the 3 bedrooms.
Pezenas is one of the prettiest towns in the South of France, with a superb weekly market and an abundance of antique stores (which provide a cheap option for furnishing the house). The town is surrounded by vineyards in all directions and the Mediterranean coast is just 20 mins away. This is an ideal spot to be based in the South of France.

The rental is for the entire property. The prices quoted are based on a 6 month rental period. Higher prices may apply to rentals over the summer period and for shorter rentals. Utility bills and communal taxes are payable in addition to the rent.

Pezenas is without doubt, one of the prettiest towns in the south of France. The medieval town centre is a real delight to walk around. Pezenas has an amazing Saturday market, which takes over the whole town. There is a good choice of restaurants, cafes and bars. During the summer, the town holds a weekly food & wine festival (the Estivale), where there are dozens of food stalls and wine growers all selling their wares. This is a great time to have dinner `al fresco` in the main streets of Pezenas seated at one of the long tables available, chatting to locals, watching the world go by, all accompanied by the great jazz band playing in the street.
Pezenas is situated 20km from the nearest Mediterranean beaches, with motorways, airports and TGV stations all within a short distance.
The cities of Beziers, Narbonne, Carcassonne and Montpellier are within easy reach and have a host of cultural, historic and artistic offerings. The area is the biggest wine growing region in France with hundreds of vineyards which gives an added dimension to a little `wine tasting`!
The nearby coastal towns and villages have wonderful fish restaurants and Bouzigues, Sete and Marseillan are all famous for the oysters, mussels and other shell fish farmed and served in the area.
Other transport
There is a TGV train station in the towns of Agde and Beziers. A regular bus service runs from Pezenas to both towns.
