This comfortable 3 bed single story house in Souilhanels, close to Carcassonne in Southern France, is available for long term rentals from September to June. The house comes with a large private garden, swimming pool, off-road parking for several vehicles and lovely views. Souilhanels is located in between Toulouse and Carcassonne and has good transport connections, with a train station in the nearby town of Castelnaudary, the A61 motorway passing close-by and Ryanair/Easyjet flights to Carcassonne & Toulouse airports.

The house is laid out on one floor and provides 140 m2 of living space. The house is located close to the centre of the village and is set within a plot of 1800m2.
There is an entrance hall which provides access to the living room, bedrooms and guest WC. There is cloakroom unit in the hall, for hanging coats and storing shoes.
- The open-plan living room comes with a lounge and dining area and access to the Billiard room. The living room has air conditioning. A set of French windows provide access to the garden and pool.
- The lounge is fitted with 2 comfortable sofas, a large sideboard and coffee table.
- The dining table can seat 6 people.
- The Billiard room comes with a full-sized billiard table, a desk, armchair and turntable & stereo system.
- The well-equipped kitchen comes with an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and large fridge-freezer. There is plenty of storage space and the house comes with a set of plates, cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils.
- Bedroom 1 is fitted with a Queen-sized double bed, a large fitted wardrobe and an upright piano. The bedroom has air conditioning (for heat and cooling). French windows provide access to the driveway at the front/side of the house.
- Bedroom 2 contains a Queen-sized double bed and 2 single beds and comes with air conditioning. French windows provide access to the garden.
- Bedroom 3 has a Queen-sized double bed, hanging space and baby-cot. This room has air conditioning.
- The bathroom comes with a modern walk-in shower and wash basin. There is a separate WC.
Outside
- There is a large garden (mainly enclosed), with mature trees, lawn and plenty of parking spaces.
- The swimming pool is 8m x 4m and normally open from May to September. The pool is normally closed during long term rentals (unless the tenants wish to pay for the monthly maintenance and cleaning). The pool is not heated.

This is a very comfortable rural property for long term rentals, which has good local transport connections. The house is very spacious and is located with a large private plot with off-road parking, shaded garden areas and a swimming pool. The house will ideally suit house-hunters looking for property in the Aude or Tarn departments in central Southern France.
One month's deposit to be paid at time of reservation. This will become your security deposit during your stay. Rent to be paid in advance for rentals of 3 months or less. For rentals in excess of 3 months, the rent can be paid on the first day of each month. In addition to the rent, there is a monthly provision of €180 towards the electricity, water and Wi-Fi.

Souilhanels is a small village with a population of around 400 people, located in the Aude department in Southern France. The Aude is one of the most sunniest areas of France and is bisected by the famous Canal du Midi. The Aude was also an important historical location for Catharism, a breakaway religion that spread rapidly in the region in the 13th century in this part of France. Locally, there are many ruins of Cathar castles, such as Peyrepertuse, Quéribus and Villerouge. For the more adventurous, the 200km Cathar Trail is highly recommended. It runs from the Mediterranean all the way to the Pyrenees and you can discover a number of medieval castles dotted along the way.
The town of Castelnaudary is 10 minutes away and it is famous in France for its local Cassoulet dish. There is a train station here (with services to Toulouse, Carcassonne and Narbonne), and local shops, supermarkets, schools and services.
The charming town of Revel is 15 minutes away and has one of the most beautiful market places in France. There are a good range of shops, supermarkets and services in the town.
Carcassonne has all the amenities of a mid-sized city - an airport, a bus station, and a mainline train station that connects to major cities throughout France. There is a good selection of cafes, bars and restaurants, together with the many supermarkets, shops, museums, a theatre and cinemas. There is also a lively farmer’s market three days a week and you can cycle along the Canal du Midi to local villages or rent a boat. Carcassonne enjoys an international reputation and welcomes several million visitors every year.
Carcassonne is famous for its castle, which is the second most-visited historical monument outside of Paris. The castle is classed as an UNESCO World Heritage site and is known locally as La Cité.
The Languedoc region is known for its natural beauty, historical landmarks and has a rich history of artisanal craftsmanship going back to the Medieval times. Today there are many thriving artistic communities that continue to attract artists, writers, and other creatives from all around the world. The surrounding landscape is a picturesque mix of Medieval villages, rolling vineyards, olive groves and the foothills of the Pyrenees. The region has some of the best preserved nature in all of France, perfect for birdwatching, hiking and other activities for absorbing yourself in nature.
