The Owners are ideally looking for a client wishing to stay for 12 months or longer. The cottage is located in a peaceful part of the village, with plenty of free-parking opposite. The walls and grounds of the neighbouring Chateau, make this an especially appealing place to live. Inside, the cottage has everything you need for a comfortable long term stay. The large wood burner will ensure that you stay lovely and warm during the winter months and the thick stone walls and tiled floor keeps the cottage cool during the summer.
The prices quoted are based on a 12 month rental period. Higher prices may apply to shorter rental periods. Utility bills are payable in addition to the rent.
The Château de Siran dates back to the 16th Century and was originally built as a defensive bastide, before becoming the home of a wine estate in the Minervois vineyards.Today, the Château is run as a 4 star luxury hotel with gastronomic restaurant and health spa.
The medieval village of Siran is situated on the border of the Herault and Aude departments in Southern France. In the village itself you will find a popular local bar, shop, wine bar and primary school. Every week, a food truck visits the village selling meat and charcuterie. The village has a population of around 750 people. The local countryside features plenty of vineyards and rugged hillsides. Nearby to Siran, you will find the ancient Cathar village of Minerve, a popular tourist destination.
The market town of Olonzac is 5 km away. Here you will find plenty of restaurants, shops and supermarkets. There is a weekly market which takes over the main streets of the town.
The famous Canal du Midi passes by close to Siran in the village of Homps and here you can enjoy some lovely walks and cycle rides along the tow path. Homps also has 2 very good restaurants.
The nearby Lac de Jouarres is perfect for swimming or sailing during the summer months. There is a cafe-restaurant located on the edge of the lake.
There is a TGV train station in Narbonne, with services up to Paris and down to Barcelona.
The nearest airport to Siran is located at Carcassonne (30 mins drive).

Siran is reached by taking the D5 from Beziers or the D610 from Carcassonne. At the village of Homps, you follow the local roads to Olonzac, Pepieux and then Siran.
