The popular city of Carcassonne in Southern France enjoys an international reputation, regularly receiving several million visitors each year, on account of its impressive Castle, the largest fortified town in Europe. The town is also very accessible, with its own airport, a railway station and a motorway running close-by, connecting the city to Toulouse and the Mediterranean coast.
This apartment comes with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathroom, a spacious living room and a large kitchen. There is Wi-Fi and the apartment is heated by electric radiators throughout. The apartment has its own private entry. The apartment is available for long term rentals of up to 9 months from €850 per month + bills.

The apartment is located on the first floor of an old town house, just a short walk from the centre of the town.
- The spacious living room comes with a large leather sofa with foot stool, TV, side tables and lamps. The tall windows allow plenty of light to flood into the room.
- The dining area features the original fireplace and has a dining table which can seat 4-6 people.
- The large kitchen comes with a kitchen table and 4 chairs and is equipped with an oven and hob, large fridge, kettle, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and washing machine. There is plenty of storage space and the apartment comes with a full set of plates, cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils.
- Bedroom 1 is fitted with a Queen-sized double bed (with drawers for storage underneath), a chest of drawers and a workspace. The en-suite bathroom comes with shower, wash basin and WC.
- Bedroom 2 has a Queen-sized double bed, chest of drawers and a workspace. French windows lead out onto the terrace.
- Bedroom 3 contains a Queen-sized double bed (with drawers for storage underneath), a chest of drawers and a workspace. The en-suite shower with a wash basin located in the bedroom. There is a separate WC.
Outside
There is a lovely private courtyard/terrace that catches the sun for most of the day. The terrace is very private and comes with a table and chairs and deck flooring.

This is a very convenient long term rental property in South France. The apartment is located right in the heart of Carcassonne, with everything on your doorstep - shops, restaurants, cafes, etc. Carcassonne also has a local airport with flights to the UK and Ireland. There is a train station in the town, with services to Bordeaux, Toulouse, Marseille, Montpellier and Narbonne (where you can pick up the TGV to Paris).
The apartment is comfortably furnished and has everything that you will need for a long stay. The private terrace is a real bonus and provides a space of peace and tranquillity in the heart of the city.

The prices quoted are based on a 6 month rental period. Higher prices may apply to rentals over the summer period and for shorter rentals. Utility bills and communal taxes are payable in addition to the rent.
A reservation deposit of one month´s rent to be paid at time of booking. This will become the security deposit during your stay. Rent to be paid in advance at the start of each month (for rentals in excess of 3 months). There is a monthly provision of €250 towards the electricity, water, internet and local taxes. Minimum stay is normally 3 months (although longer rental periods preferred). Pets may be accepted through prior agreement.

The city of Carcassonne enjoys an international reputation and welcomes several million visitors every year. The local castle, is the the largest fortified town in Europe and it is the second most-visited historic monument in France. It is also an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The area around the castle is referred to locally as the Cité.
Below the castle, there is the main part of Carcassonne, often referred to as the Ville Basse or Bastide Saint-Louis. The grid like streets date back to medieval times when King Louis IX founded a fortified town on this site in 1260.
Carcassonne has all the amenities of a mid-sized city - an airport, a bus station, and a mainline train station that connects to major cities throughout France. There is a good selection of cafes, bars and restaurants, together with the many supermarkets, shops, museums, a theatre and cinemas. There is also a lively farmer’s market three days a week and you can cycle along the Canal du Midi to local villages or rent a boat. During the summer, the city hosts a popular music festival, attracting well-known acts throughout the month of July.
The Languedoc region is known for its natural beauty, historical landmarks and has a rich history of artisanal craftsmanship going back to the Medieval times. Today there are many thriving artistic communities that continue to attract artists, writers, and other creatives from all around the world. The surrounding landscape is a picturesque mix of Medieval villages, rolling vineyards, olive groves and the foothills of the Pyrenees. The region has some of the best preserved nature in all of France, perfect for birdwatching, hiking and other activities for absorbing yourself in nature.
The Mediterranean coastline can be accessed in 45 mins, with many impressive sandy beaches such as Gruissan Plage, Narbonne Plage and Le Franqui Plage. The local Corbieres hills and the fertile plains of the Minervois, both produce some of the best wines in Southern France..

Carcassonne Railway Station is 10 minutes walk from the apartment. You can catch trains to Bordeaux, Toulouse, Narbonne, Perpignan, Montpellier and Marseille.
Narbonne and Toulouse train stations have connecting TGV train services to Paris.
Airports
Carcassonne airport has a number of Ryanair flights throughout the year to the UK (Manchester, London and East Midlands), Brussels, Ireland (Dublin & Cork) and Portugal. The airport drop-off point is just a few minutes away from the apartment.
Toulouse airport has a wider selection of flights and is 1 hour away.
Driving directions
Carcassonne is located close to the A62 motorway which runs in between Narbonne and Toulouse.
