This 3 bed house for long term rentals in France, is located north of Avignon and close to all the sites of Provence such as Gordes, Roussillon, L'Isle-sur-Sorgue and Mont Ventoux. The local wines rival Châteauneuf-du-Pape for their quality.
The house comes with 3 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (2 en suite), 2 terraces and gorgeous views over the surrounding vineyards. The house is set within a small hamlet just outside the charming village of Gigondas, in the Vaucluse department.
The house is available for long term rentals of up to 12 months from €1,250 per month + bills.
Provence house for long term rentals - facilities
The house was originally built in 1900 and is laid out over 2 floors. The house provides 130m2 of living space. The house comes with Wi-Fi, electric wall radiators and air conditioning (reversible for heating in the winter).
First floor
A set of outdoor steps take you up to the first floor from the road in front of the house. At the rear of the property, access is provided from the driveway and smaller terrace
- There is an entrance hall which has stairs up to the second floor.
- The lounge has a sofa (which folds out to form a double bed), an armchair, love seat and a small table.
- The open plan kitchen and dining room has been recently renovated. The kitchen provides access out to both the front and rear terraces.
- The kitchen comes with an oven, an induction hob (with 5 hotplates), a large fridge-freezer, dishwasher and plenty of cooking utensils. The house has a full set of plates, cutlery and glasses. The kitchen provides access out to the smaller terrace at the side of the house and also to the bathroom on this floor.
- There is a bathroom with a walk-in shower, WC and sink. The bathroom also contains a washing machine and dryer.
Second floor
- The Master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, wash basin and toilet. The bedroom comes with a Queen-size bed, antique wardrobe and bedside cabinets. The bedroom offers lovely views over the local hillside.
- Bedroom 2 comes with a Queen-size bed and large wardrobe.
- Bedroom 3 also has a Queen-size bed and small storage area
- Both bedrooms have direct access to a 'Jack & Jill' bathroom with WC, sink and walk-in shower.
Outside
- The house offers two terraces, one with a view of the vineyards at the front of the house and the other provides a sunny spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee. Both terraces have sunshine and shade during different parts of the day.

The house is available for long term rentals of up to 12 months. In addition to the rent, there is a monthly provision of €225 euros towards the water, electricity and Wi-Fi. Minimum stay is normally 3 months.

The location of this house is simply idyllic. The house is set in a beautiful and quiet corner of Provence, surrounded by open countryside, hills and vineyards. This is the perfect space to relax and unwind and enjoy the high quality local wines. The nearby village of Gigondas has a Michelin star restaurant and a number of excellent vineyards. The house is situated with a small hamlet, with walking trails in all directions and some of the best cycling routes in the World (including the famous ascent up Mont Ventoux). The towns of Orange, Avignon and Carpentras are all within 20-40 mins drive and it is easy to reach all the sites of Provence, such as Gordes, Roussillon, L'Isle-sur-Sorgue and Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
A car will be essential in this location. Due to the low windows and suspended terrace, the house is not suited for younger children.

Area activities
The house is located in a small hamlet close to the village of Gigondas in the Vaucluse department in Provence, France. Gigondas has a population of 430. The village has been a centre for wine growing since Roman times. There is a local hotel and restaurant just outside the village.
The local area has many lovely villages to explore such as Séguret, Vaison-la-Romaine, Rasteau, Cairanne, Ste-Cécile-les-Vignes and Fontaine-de-Vaucluse.
The house is well-located to explore all the sites of Provence, including:
- the hilltop village of Gordes, recently voted the most beautiful village in the World;
- the market town of L'Isle-sur-Sorgue, with its canals, craft shops and weekly market;
- Mont Ventoux, is the highest mountain in Provence, with an altitude of 1,910 m and is the scene of one of the most grueling climbs in the Tour de France cycling race. Every year there are amateur races to climb the mountain.
- the stunning village of Roussillon, famous for its ochre coloured cliffs and buildings;
- the walled hilltop village of Ménerbes, officially classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France;
- the stunning city of Avignon, perched on the banks of the Rhône and home to the Palais-des-Papes, the Pont d'Avignon, a large arts festival during the summer and a popular Christmas market in the winter.
- the famous vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Other transport
There is a TGV train station in Avignon (40 mins) and a local train station in the nearby town of Carpentras. There is a bus service from Gigondas to Carpentras.
Airports
The nearest airport is located in Nimes (1 hour), which has regular Ryanair flights to the UK, Ireland and Belgium. Marseille airport (1 hour 15 mins) has a wider range of international flights.
Driving directions
Gigondas is located 40km north east of Avignon and 25km east of Orange. The A7 motorway can be accessed in 20 mins.
