Perpignan long term rentals in France 2026
The Southern French city of Perpignan is situated in between the coast and the Pyrenees, close to the Spanish border. With it's mild winters and long hot summers, it is the perfect destination for find a long term rental in France. The city is the capital of Roussillon and it has a real Spanish feel to it. The old narrow streets towards the Palais des Rois de Majorque are a real pleasure to walk around.
Perpignan also has a real connection with art, with famous artists such as Salvador Dali, Picasso, Dufy, Maillol and Cocteau all having studios in the City at one time or other. The surrounding countryside is very pretty. Wherever you go you will see vineyards set against the backdrop of the Pyrenees. There are some great local towns and villages such as Thuir, Ceret, Collioure, Laroque-des-Alberes and Estagel. The area is well served by the transport network. The TGV stops in Perpignan and there is a new connection all the way to Barcelona.
Perpignan has a fantastic climate with long hot summers, warm sunny days in the Spring and Autumn and very mild winters. The temperature during the day over the winter period (November to February) rarely drops below 9-10°C (48-50°F). You can certainly still walk around in shirt sleeves even in December and more often than not, you can enjoy cloudless skies and a warm sun. During May and June and also from September to October, you can expect highs of 20-23°C (70-75°F).
Perpignan also has its own local airport, with regular flights Paris and seasonal flights to a number of European countries (Ireland, UK and Belgium). Perpignan airport really helps service the tourism industry around Perpignan (although the only way to get to the ski stations at at Font Romeu and Les Angles during the winter season, would be to get a connecting flight from Paris.

Renting properties in Perpignan France
We have a very simple booking procedure for renting property in France. We will ask you to provide a copy of your ID (passport photo page) and some supporting evidence of ability to afford the monthly rent. In practice, this can be anything from a copy of your bank statement to an employment contract or pension statement. In fact anything that confirms that you are good for paying the rent.
Usually, you will be required to pay a 1 month deposit at the time of reservation (and this then rolls over to become your security deposit during your stay. The rent is paid in advance on the first day of the month. All payments are made direct to the property owner. If you have a French bank account, you can also set up a payment transfer for the rent, or you can easily set up an online account with a foreign currency specialist such as Revolut or Wise.
We visit all of the properties that we advertise on Long Term Rentals in France and we can also arrange visits if you prefer to see the property before confirming the rental. The normal minimum rental period is 3 months (although shorter periods can be arranged, usually by paying a higher rental amount).
As a guide, these are the monthly rental prices you will expect to pay for a long term rental property in the Perpignan area of Southern France:
